Eduardo Lakschevitz

Professor of Music History at the University of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), Eduardo Lakschevitz holds a Doctoral degree in Music Education at the same University, and a Masters degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC), where he studied with Eph Ehly. Active as a teacher, conductor and clinician, he has worked in several Brazilian states, as well as in the US. In the early 90's Dr. Lakschevitz founded the NGO Oficina Coral, where he coordinated ten editions of the Choral Conducting International Course. At the present time he develops corporate education programs through choral singing and promotes music tours in Brzsil for American ensembles.

Dr. Lakschevitz founded and directed for five years the group KOLINA, a vocal ensemble specializing in the sacred music of Brazil, with which he toured different states, as well as North America, and recorded two CDs. His compositions, articles, and arrangements have been recorded and published in Brazil, Venezuela, the United States and Slovenia.
